Brownsburg celebrates Spring Signing Day

The Brownsburg High School Athletic Department celebrated its Spring Signing Day on Wednesday May 20. Eight Brownsburg High School seniors signed their National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level. They were joined by coaches, friends and family on a live Zoom call Wednesday morning.

Following another successful season on the mat Peyton Asbury signed to continue his wrestling career for Cumberland University in Tennessee. Asbury was a four-year letter winner for Brownsburg wrestling Head Coach Darrick Snyder. He was a two-time Hoosier Crossroads Conference Champion and IHSAA Sectional Champion during his high school career. Asbury was also a two-time IHSAA Wrestling State Finals qualifier.

Ryan Birr chose to continue his baseball career in Lincoln County, North Carolina for The Combine Academy. Birr earned two letters for Brownsburg baseball Head Coach Dan Roman. He had four appearances on the mound during the 2019 season and allowed eight earned runs.

2019 IndyStar Indiana All-Star Malek Edmonds signed to continue his basketball career for Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Edmonds posted a stellar senior campaign and helped Brownsburg to a 21-4 record. Edmonds was the second-leading scorer in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference and earned an All-HCC First Team selection during the 2019-2020 season.  

Former IHSAA Heavyweight State Champion Dorian Keys signed to continue wrestling at Purdue University. Keys, who wrestled only wrestled two high school seasons, posted an 88-5 record as a Bulldog and was an IHSAA State Champion as a junior. He placed third at the IHSAA State Finals as a senior. Keys was also awarded two letters on the football field and was an Indiana All-Star selection.

Kaylee Price will head to Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan to continue her throwing career. Price was a four-time letter winner in track and earned an additional letter on the hardwood. Price earned the Brownsburg girls' track and field team's "Big-Dog" Award in 2018 and the program's Most Improved Award in 2019.

Brownsburg girls' tennis player Isabelle Roberts signed to play collegiately for Hanover College in Southern Indiana. Roberts earned one varsity letter as a Bulldog and was also named the team's MVP during her high school playing career.

Jahmon Spiller chose to continue his wrestling career at Ancilla College in Northern Indiana. Spiller reached new heights during his senior campaign as he was a Hoosier Crossroads Conference Runner-up and first-time IHSAA Semi-State Qualifier. Spiller earned four letters on the mat and an additional one on the football field during his Brownsburg career.

Brownsburg sprinter Gavin Waltz chose to sign with Purdue University Fort Wayne to continue his track and field career. Waltz earned three letters in track during his high school career and also earned a pair of letters as a member of the Brownsburg boys' soccer team. In 2019, Waltz was a part of Brownsburg's 4x100M relay team that finished 3rd at the 2019 IHSAA Track and Field State Finals.
