Brownsburg senior cross country runners Alex Freeman and Brooke Dixon were named to the 2019 IATCCC Indiana Cross Country All-Star team. The duo represents Brownsburg on the team of 24 runners from the state of Indiana (12 girls and 12 boys).

The announcement comes on the heels of stellar senior seasons for the two runners.

Freeman and Dixon were both named All-HCC runners at the 2019 Hoosier Crossroads Conference Cross Country Championships back in September.

Freeman and Dixon also competed at the 2019 IHSAA Cross Country State Finals last weekend.

Dixon finished 9th individually to surpass her finishes at State during her junior and sophomore seasons. Freeman was a key piece in helping the Brownsburg Boys' Cross-Country team grab a podium spot in their first ever State Finals appearance.

Dixon makes her mark in the history books as the first Brownsburg Girls' Cross-Country runner to ever be named to the Indiana All-Star team.

Freeman is the fourth Indiana Boys Cross Country All-Star in Brownsburg school history. Hari Sathyamurthy (2015), Scott Vicenzi (2009) and Isaac Davis (2005) were both previous Brownsburg Indiana All-Stars.

Freeman and Dixon will head to the Mid-East Cross-Country Championships on November 16th at Indian Riffle Park in Kettering, Ohio. Indian Riffle Park is "one of the best 5k courses in the Midwest."

The Mid-East Cross-Country Championships are sponsored by the members of the Greater Dayton Track and Cross-Country Officials Association and the Ohio Association of Track and Cross-Country Coaches. The event compiles 12 of the best boys' and girls' runners from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio into one meet.

The event was first held back in 1987.
