Bulldogs Defeat Greewood
The Varsity Girls' basketball team improved to 8-4 on the season with a win over Greenwood, 59-53. The Dogs jumped out to a quick start scoring 17 first quarter points. The Dogs were up 17-12 after the first 8 minutes of action. The Dogs continued to play solid in the second quarter with a balanced attack. Seven Bulldog players scored in the first half. The Dogs entered halftime with a 10 point advantage, 32-22. The Dogs' defense struggled to contain Greenwood's IUPUI bound point guard in the 3rd quarter. The Dogs' saw their lead cut to 7 as they entered the 4th quarter. The Dogs maintained their composure as Greenwood made a final run at the Dogs.
Reilly Olmstead and Zhane Roper each scored a team high 14 points. Reilly hit two 3's in the first half. Zhane was a perfect 4 of 4 from the free throw line, hitting 2 in the final seconds of action. Zhane also grabbed 5 rebounds.
Aliyah Walker added 9 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Devin Courtney chipped in 6 points. Hannah Linville and Chazney Jones each scored 5 points. Chazney grabbed 5 boards.
It was a great team effort. The Dogs will face Western Boone on Saturday. Come out and support your Dogs!
