Bulldogs Defeat Orioles

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team had a convincing win on Saturday night over HCC and County rival Avon, 53-37.  The Dogs shot a perfect 12 for 12 from the free throw line in the first quarter.  The Dogs were up, 12-6 at the end of the first.  The Dogs were plagued by fouls in the second quarter, sending the Orioles to the line to tie the score at 19 as the half expired.  The Dogs rallied in the third quarter, scoring 20 points in 8 minutes of action.  The Dogs entered the fourth quarter up 39-32.  The Dogs were able to limit the Orioles to just 5 points in the final quarter of action with their tenacious D. 

It was an all around great team effort.

Aliyah Walker finished with a game high 16 points and 20 rebounds.  Zhane Roper chipped in 11 points and 4 rebounds and did a great job handling the point.  Hannah Linville scored 10 points.  Devin Courtney added 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.

The Dogs will travel to Lawrence Central on Tuesday night.
