Boys' Basketball Grabs HCC Win over Westfield

The boys' varsity basketball team got on track this past Friday night, downing the Westfield Shamrocks 48-47.  Junior Gerald Harney knocked down both free-throws of a one and one with .7 seconds remaining to give the Dogs the lead.  Xavier Ringo came up with the final steal to secure the victory.  The Dogs' defense was solid holding the Shamrocks to just 21 points in three quarters.  But the Rocks got hot in the third scoring 26 points.  Evan Finley got loose on the inside during the third quarter scoring 14 of his career high 16 points to keep the game close.  In the fourth, Jaraan Lands connected on a big three to answer a Shamrock run, and Gerald Harney also drained a trey to give the Dogs a lead before his heroics from the foul line.  Evan Finley led all scorers with 16 points.  Jaraan Lands scored 12 and grabbed seven rebounds. Xavier Ringo raced for seven points and dished out four assists.  Trevor Lucas knocked down a big three in the first half for three total points.  Sam Comer made a strong post move for two.  Mescall, Dutra, and Thompson all had a free-throw.  Chase Dutra also dished out four assists.  Thank you to all of the fans that come out to support the Dogs!
