Millers Hand Dogs HCC Loss
The boys' basketball team traveled to Noblesville Friday night to fight the Millers. The Dogs battled but lost the war 54-63. Evan Finley ignited the offense in the first quarter with finishes from teammates attacking the rim; Finley also got the Dogs Defense going by taking the only charge of the game. The second quarter Noblesville made their living at the free-throw line due to poor defense. After being down 31-19 at the half, the Dogs battled back thanks to 12 second half points from K.J. Walton to cut the lead to five in the middle of the four quarter. Solid free-throw shooting by the Millers kept the Dogs at bay. Jaraan Lands scored eleven points with seven rebounds; Evan Finley dropped in ten points; Xavier Ringo added nine points and four assists; Gerald Harney scored four points; Jimmy Mescall nailed home a three; and Sam Comer had a tip in. K.J. Walton scored a career high 15 points to go along with three rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
