Track and Field Competes at Moorseville

The Bulldog Track & Field team traveled to Mooresville to take on Mooresville and Plainfield. The boys won the track meet, scoring 77 points. In the field events, Richard Lang cleared 6 feet in the high jump for the first time this year taking second place. In the long jump, Corey Griffen jumped 20'9" to win the event. Senior Devin Humes won the shot put and discus throwing 44'6" in the shot put and 147'1" in the discus. Alan Yip took second in the shot put throwing a PR of 43'11". On the track, Sophomore Bryce Kirtz won the 100 and the 400 running 50.98 in his first 400 of the year. Corey Griffen won the 110 meter hurdles and the team of Dequincy Davis, Jon Hammond, Jack Parker, and Shai Sumpter-Bey placed 1st in the 4x100 meter relay. The 4x400 meter relay team of Jack Parker, Jon Hammond, Leigh Nutall, and Shai Sumpter-Bey took 1st as well. One of the highlights of the night was Freshmen Jack Copland. Jack ran a 15 second PR in the 3200 meter run to take 2nd. The bulldogs will be back in action next week when they travel to Cascade on Tuesday for the Hendricks County Invitational.

 

The girls' track and field team defeated Mooresville and Plainfield Tuesday night with a final score of 79-60-28! The 4x800 team of Brooke Dixon, Carly Altier, Emma Cougill, and Lauren Rinehart started the night off strong breaking the freshman record by 26 seconds with a time of 10:02.86! Lauren Rinehart had another 19 year old freshman record go down by breaking the 800 meter record with a time of 2:19.40! Other event winners for the night include: Grace Esterline in the mile, Brooke Dixon in the 3200, Joy Sopitan in the 100 meters, Mackenzie Harless in the high jump, Kaya Hill in the long jump, the 4x100 relay of Mackenzie Stien, Kaya Hill, Joy Sopitan, Lizzie Daniels, and the 4x400 team of Angie Neddeau, Anna Boone, Michaela Barrett, and Lauren Rinehart. The girls are back in action on Tuesday for the County Meet. Go Bulldogs!
