Bulldogs Competed vs. Westfield

The Bulldogs traveled to Westfield Thursday evening for a dual meet against the Shamrocks. The boys started the meet off with an impressive showing in the long jump. Dequincy Davis (1st place, 20'10.5") and Leigh Nutall (2nd place, 20'3.5") became the 2nd and 3rd Bulldog long jumpers to mark over 20 feet this season. Eli Johnson and Richard Lang took first and second place in the high jump while Justin Garnett took first place in the pole vault with a mark of 10'6". On the track, the boys took first place in the 110 meter hurdles (Tyrone Griffin), the 100 meter dash (Bryce Kirtz), the 300 meter hurdles (Jaylon Keith), and the 4x100 meter relay (Leigh Nutall, Dequincy Davis, Jack Parker, Jon Hammond). Another highlight of the meet was our second 4x100 meter relay team made up of Freshmen. Sean Edwards, Devin Jones, DeAnte Ball, and Isaiah Higgins edged Westfield's relay team to take second in the sprint relay. The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday as 7 athletes will compete at the HSR indoor state championships in Bloomington.
