Red Devils Defeat Bulldogs

The Varsity Football team opened the 2014 season on the road at Pike High School last Friday with a loss.  The team spotted the Red Devils a 13 point lead before fighting back with two touchdowns of their own.  Tyler Kirtz had a highlight catch on an 18 yard touchdown and then housed a short pass from 72 yards out for the Dogs second score.  Hunter Johnson connected on 9 throws for 123 yards and the two touchdowns.  Toks Akinribade completed the team scoring with a 73 yard run early in the fourth quarter.  Toks rushed for 105 yards on the night .  Defensively Seth Bronger had 8 solo tackles and 5 assists while Sam Hoffa had 7 solo's and 3 assisted tackles.  Mike McCoy collected his first interception of the year as well.  The team will host Lawrence North this Friday night in their home opener.  See you on the field!
