Boy's and Girls' Swimming Defeat County Rival Plainfield

The Bulldog Boys & Girls Swimming & Diving Team turned in a spirited effort on Tuesday night against Hendricks County rival Plainfield at the Bulldog Aquatic Center. The girls turned in a decisive 104-79 victory over the Quakers while the Bulldog boys had their best meet of the season, edging Plainfield by a slim margin, 94.5-91.5.
Junior Madeline Ketchem was undefeated on the night, placing first individually in the 50 & 500 Freestyle, teaming with junior Erin Miller, sophomore Grace Fulwider and freshman Kierra Watson to win the 200 Medley Relay and teaming with Watson, senior Elizabeth Ancel and sophomore Chloe Wittig to win the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Fulwider (100 Butterfly, 100 Breaststroke) and Wittig (200 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke) added a pair of individual wins to their relay victories, while Watson won the 200 IM to finish the night as triple winners. Miller picked up an individual victory in the 100 Freestyle to finish as a double winner against the Quakers.
The Bulldog boys used quality depth to pull out the win, and were led by senior Joel Paquin and freshman Joe Ancel, who were both double winners for the night. Paquin won the 200 Freestyle and Ancel won the 200 IM. Ancel and Paquin teamed with senior Joe Perkins and freshman Kyle Baney to win the 200 Freestyle Relay.

Junior Kasey Cross touched the wall first in the 100 Butterfly, as did freshman Diego LaTorre in the 100 Backstroke.

The Bulldog Boys (3-2) and Girls (5-3) Swimming & Diving Team returns to action on Tuesday, January 17, traveling to Ben Davis for a 6 p.m. contest with the Giants.
