Girls' Swimming Opens Season With Win

The Brownsburg Bulldog Girls Swimming & Diving team successfully opened their 2011-2012 campaign by winning 9 of 12 events en route to a 114-66 victory over the Tri-West Bruins Tuesday night at the Bulldog Aquatic Center.

Senior Elizabeth Ancel, juniors Madeline Ketchem and Erin Miller and sophomore Grace Fulwider were all triple winners on the evening. 

Ancel teamed with Erin Miller and sophomores Madde Jordan and Chloe Wittig to win the opening 200 Medley Relay. Ancel picked up an individual win in the 50 Freestyle and later teamed with Fulwider, Ketchem and sophomore Anna Miller to win the 200 Freestyle Relay.

Fulwider and Ketchem each had two individual victories to complement their relay success. Ketchem teamed with Anna Miller for a 1-2 sweep of the 200 Freestyle and later led senior Emily Young and Anna Miller in a 1-2-3 sweep of the 100 Freestyle.

Fulwider won the 100 Breaststroke and teamed with Wittig for a 1-2 sweep of the 200 IM.

Erin Miller teamed with freshman Kierra Watson to finish 1-2 in the 100 Backstroke, while Erin Miller, Watson and Wittig teamed with sophomore Tia Scoggan to win the 400 Freestyle Relay.

The Bulldog girls (1-0) will return to competition on Tuesday, November 22, hosting Cascade and Mooresville at the Bulldog Aquatic Center at 5:30 p.m.
