Tennis Loses to Zionsville

Tennis Loses to Zionsville

The boys' varsity tennis team lost a 4-1 decision to Zionsville in regional action at Avon on Tuesday night.  Jon Class brought in the lone point for the 'Dogs with another phenomenal win.  Sam Gentry and Sam Peterson played hard and battled into three sets at the number one and number three singles' positions, respectively, but could not hang on for the win.  The number one doubles team of Nathan Mehringer and Nick Wilde lost in two very tight sets.  The number two tandem of Michael Clemens and Todd Clark lost in two tight sets as well, including a tie-break in the second.  In spite of the loss, the 2013 Bulldog squad has accomplished so much for BHS Tennis.  This #11-ranked team finished with a 17-3 record, were runner-up in conference, and won the sectional title three years in a row,  Congratulations to the entire team on such a great season!  Special thanks and to our seniors: Sam Gentry, Jon Class, Nick Wilde, Nathan Mehringer, Todd Clark, Michael Clemens, and Matt Irelan.
