Bulldogs Defeat Tigers

Your Brownsburg Bulldogs bounced back with an impressive win at home against the Fishers Tigers on USA Night, winning 41-13.  The night started off with a special moment, as senior football players and cheerleaders from both Brownsburg and Fishers held an over-sized American flag at midfield during the singing of the National Anthem.  Then everyone in attendance was inspired by 92 year old WWII war hero Wayne Stalcup as he performed the coin toss.

The Dogs started strong on offense, marching 80 yards down the field on the first drive, using over half of the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead.  The defense held, the Dogs got the ball back and scored again and from that point the game was never in doubt as the Dogs played well in all phases of the game.

On offense, Kyle Strakis was dominant at quarterback, tying a school record with six touchdown passes to go along with 218 yards passing!  3 of those passes were hauled in by Bryce Kirtz with 1 each for Devin Robinson, Armon'te Carter, and Reis Thomas!  Donovan Marcus, behind awesome offensive line play, was also very impressive with Marcus recording 164 yards on the ground and the Dogs running for over 200 yards in total.

The defense was stifling all night, limiting the Tigers to just under 200 yards of total offense.  Tyrone Griffin was triumphant in his return to action, making plays all of the field.  SeVonte Sumpter-Bey was also impressive from his linebacker spot and Dequincy Davis added an interception in the second half to keep the Tigers out of the end zone.

As always, the student section was the best in the state as we welcomed WISH-TV Channel 8 to Roark Stadium.  The team is looking forward to a battle with Westfield next week and we hope to see everyone there!
