Cross Country Competes at Plainfield Invite

The boys' cross-country team ran to a 4th place finish Saturday out of 15 schools in the Plainfield Relays, just missing the top 3 by a single point.  For the second meet in a row to open the season, Hari Sathyamurthy and Marcus Fierek partnered to place first in the race in which the two runners alternate mile repeats over a 6 mile distance.  Once again, the duo averaged under 5 minutes per mile!

Perhaps the biggest key to the Bulldogs placing highly as a total team was the performance of Noah Gossett and Elijah Wagner, who placed 12th overall out of 72 pairs. Christian Hammerly and Devon Boone were the third Bulldog pair to cross the line, placing 30th.Michael Breckler also ran extremely well, improving by 20 seconds per mile over last year's time.

Freshman Tyler Nolan led the JV by placing 19th out of 162 runners.  Fellow freshman Bryce Dixon was 23rd, running the two-mile course in 11 minutes and 52 seconds, while Hayes Morrison was the third JV runner on the day. Mike Swarms also bested his goal time by more than 1 minute!
