Boys Win and Girls Place 3rd in Cross Country Regional - Both Teams Advance to Carmel Regional

For the first time in school history, the Bulldog boys came home from Ben Davis High School Saturday with the regional championship trophy, edging host Ben Davis by the score of 54 to 62! The Dog attack started with Wyatt Rondot running to an impressive 3rd place overall finish, followed by Ben Hendricks in 7th place, Alek Minkis in 13th, and Justin Hays in 15th. Elliot Shaw was absolutely critical to the success of the team, and he delivered big in 16th place, passing runner after runner in the last half-mile! Sam Fellers also ran very well to lend much-needed depth for the team.

The cross-country girls also had an excellent day, placing third as a team and advancing to next Saturday's semi state finals. The girls were led by the 1-2 punch of Laura Bess in 4th place and Sydney Lesko in 8th place. The freshman trio of Julia Popenfoose, Cassidy Brown, and Jill Zimmerman all had personal record times over the 5 km course on a very windy day, and Kyra Jo Gaerke ran a season best time.
