Track and Field Competes at ZHS Invite

The boys track and field team traveled to the Zionsville Invitational Friday night to compete against 11 other teams. The Bulldogs fell one point short of the victory finishing runner-up to Zionsville. There were many outstanding performances for the night including a new school and meet record by the 4x400 team of Nassif Kouton, Tyler Kirtz, Brandon Britton, and Hari Sathyamurthy running the fastest time in the state this outdoor season with a time of 3:21.26! Hari continued his winning streak with personal best times in the mile and 800 meter run. The boys 4 x 100 meter relay team of Nassif Kouton, Toks Akinribade, Tyler Kirtz, and Isaiah O'Neal also finished in first place. Another great performances for the night included Ben Crockett, Seth Webster, Brandon Britton, and Devon Boone in the 4 x 800 relay. All boys ran their personal best times of the season. Great job to all team members!

In a very close battle the girls track team placed 3rd out of 10 teams Friday night at the Zionsville Invitational. Sophomore Courtney Stull continued her winning ways and set a new personal best time in the 100m hurdles as she cruised to victory in 16.1 seconds. She also backed up her performance with a 1st place in the 300m hurdles, followed in 2nd by teammate Jolori Schafer, and 3rd place in the long jump. Claire Hathaway took another 1stplace in the long jump, while Megan Berry vaulted to another 1st as well. Juniors Julia Popenfoose and Cassidy Brown showed great improvement as they put up season and personal best times in both the mile and 2 mile against very tough competition placing 4th and 5th out of 18 girls in both events. Nice job to all of the girls and best of luck in your meets this week!
