Girls' Track Competes at Sectional

The future is looking bright for the girls track team as 3 sophomores and a freshman walked away with the most individual sectional championships on the night and helped the team to a hard fought 3rd place finish out of 12 teams. Claire Hathaway jumped nearly 17ft in the long jump to edge out the competition and defend her title for the second year in a row. Pole Vaulter Megan Berry finished 1st overall flying high with a vault of 10ft. Courtney Stull cruised to victory in the 100 hurdles and set an all-time personal best of 16.03 seconds for her championship. Finally, freshman Mackenzie Harless equaled her best high jump performance ever jumping an impressive 5ft to claim her first sectional victory. In addition to these girls great performances from distance runner Cassidy Brown in the 2 mile, Jolori Schafer in the 300m hurdles, and the 4x100 relay of Stull, Daija Middlebrook, Jackeline Batayneh, and Rebecca Schrad, will have them all advancing to Regional competition as well. Congratulations to all of these girls on a job well done and best of luck next week at Regionals!
