Girls' Track Places 2nd at County Meet

The girls track team came up only one spot short of the trophy at the Hendricks County Championship meet Tuesday night as they placed 2nd out of 6, just behind a strong Avon team. Battling the constant rain several Bulldogs put in great performances. Sophomore Claire Hathaway soared over 17 feet in the long jump to easily take 1st place. Fellow sophomore Courtney Stull put in her best hurdle race of the season taking 1st in the 100m hurdles in a time of 16.4 seconds. Freshman Mackenzie Harless brought home the medal in high jump as she cleared the 5ft bar to take 1st place overall. Other strong performances that helped rack up the points came from Crystal Stowers with 2nd in shot put, Stull and Jolori Schafer going 2nd and 3rd in the 300m hurdles, Julia Popenfoose with 3rd in the 2 mile race, and Mallory Roark with an impressive 3rd in the 400m. Great job girls on an impressive night!
