Girls' Track Defeats Plainfield & Mooresville

​The girls' track team pulled out another win Tuesday evening against Plainfield and Mooresville, moving their record to 8-0 to start the season. Several girls collected blue ribbons on the way to victory. Junior Brianna Smith came away with three 1st place finishes in the 100m dash, 200m dash, and in the 4x100 relay along with Daija Middlebrook, Monique Burnes and Courtney Stull as they finished their lap in just 51 seconds. Stull also was victorious in the 100m hurdles finishing in just over 16 seconds. Sophomore Megan Berry launched her way to a 1st place finish in the pole vault with a height of 9' 6". Other notable performances were turned in by Julia Popenfoose taking an easy 1st in the 2 mile race, Crystal Stowers with 1st in the shot put, Mallory Roark with an impressive leg of the 4x800 relay and 400m dash, Claire Hathaway winning long jump, and Jolori Schafer setting a new personal best in a close 300m hurdle race at 48.41 seconds. Lisa Thacker, Sophie O'Neil, Alex Gutzweiler, and Jaqueline Batayneh also made a nice contribution for the team. Congratulations girls on an excellent night!
