Girls Run in Zionsville Invite

Friday evening was a big night for the Lady Bulldogs track team.  The ladies rolled into Zionsville as the defending Invitational Champs. Although things got started off a little slowly, placing 6th in the 4x800 relay, the ladies eventually got on track to place 2nd out of 10 teams overall!  The host Eagles were the champions on the night scoring 113 to the Bulldogs 89.

Laura Bess was the top performer on the night setting two meet and stadium records in the 1600 and 3200 meters going 5:05 in the 16 and 11:12 in the 32!  Others who performed well were Sibong Ncube 2nd in the 100 meter hurldes, Briana Smith in the 100, the 4x100 relay team of Florence Akinribade, Monique Burnes, Ncube, and Smith, Sydney Lesko in the 1600, Kerry Devney and Burnes in the 300 hurdles, Akinribade and Veronica Goduto in the 200, Rachel Smith in the 800, and the 4x400 relay team of Goduto, Morgan Weller, Burnes, and Chloe Dygert placed 2nd on the night. In the field events Brittany Newson scored in the discus and Ncube placed well in the high jump!
