Former Brownsburg girls' basketball player and head coach Amy Brauman has been selected to the 2020 Women's Induction Class for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame made the announcement on December 17.

"It's a great honor [to be inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame]. I would not be here had it not been for the players that I played with and the coach that I played for at Brownsburg." Brauman said. "I was very lucky to have great players around me when I played. Any time you are surrounded by talent, the individual accomplishments almost always come." Brauman said.

As a player, Brauman helped Brownsburg to a 76-18 record over her four-year career. That stretch included an historic 25-1 campaign in 1990-1991 that saw the program reach its first -ever IHSAA Girls' Basketball State Tournament Final Four.

Brauman still holds over a dozen school records from her time at Brownsburg.

Brauman's senior campaign for Brownsburg saw her set school records for most points in a season (652) and highest single season scoring average (25.1). She also set the program record for points in a game (41) until that record was broken nearly 12 years later.

Brauman scored 1,496 career points and ranks third all-time in program history. Her 716 career rebounds also put her third in program history.

After finishing third in the Indiana Miss Basketball voting and earning an Indiana-All Star selection, Brauman went on to play three years at Illinois State University. She transferred to Marian College (now Marian University) in Indianapolis to cap off her playing career and helped the Knights to a 20-6 record.

Brauman returned to the program in 2001 to work as an assistant under her former head coach Mike Griffin, Brownsburg's all-time winningest head coach. She became the girls' basketball head coach at Brownsburg ahead of the 2007-2008 season.

In her eight years at the helm of the program she led the Bulldogs to a 120-64 record. Her stint was highlighted by five Hendricks County Tournament championships and the 2010 Hall of Fame Classic championship. She was named an Indiana All-Star assistant coach for the 2013-2014 season.

Brauman closed her tenure as Brownsburg's head coach with six consecutive winning seasons. During the 2012-2013 campaign the Bulldogs posted a 20-4 record, won their fourth consecutive Hendricks County Tournament championship and snapped a 13-year IHSAA Sectional championship drought.

Brauman is the mother of current Brownsburg athletes Pierce Thomas and Quinci Thomas along with former Bulldog Reis Thomas. Brauman and the ten other inductees will be honored at the 19th annual Women's Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 25, 2020.
