Boys' Cross Country Repeats as Regional Champs

Congratulations to the boys' cross-country team, who defended their regional championship Saturday by defeating runner-up Zionsville by the score of 61 to 71. Avon High School, the sectional champion on Tuesday, rounded out the top three places with 78 points. The Bulldogs' top three, Elliot Shaw, Justin Hays, and Alek Minkis, continued their strong performances and earned " All-Regional" honors by placing 6th, 10th, and 15th, respectively. The keys to the victory, though, were the races turned in by Mark Bond and Sam Fellers. Both boys broke 17 minutes for the first time and defeated the #5 runners from both Zionsville and Avon. Jack Reed and Seth Webster rounded out the Bulldogs' varsity squad with personal record setting races. The boys run for a berth in the state finals at Saturday's semistate Championships in Carmel.
