Bulldogs Cap Off Successful Season

Sophomore Vince Partlow capped off a successful season for the Bulldog Swimming & Diving team on Saturday, finishing 16th in the 200 Freestyle at the IHSAA State Finals. The Dogs established three new school records at Friday's preliminary session, with Partlow the lone qualifier for finals.

"This meet keeps getting faster and faster, but our guys competed well and overall it was a great season," Bulldog Head Coach Josh Saylor said. "If you're a competitor, you always want to improve your results, but our guys have a lot to be proud of."

Partlow and junior Kyle Baney both established individual school records during Friday's prelim session as well as teaming up for a new school relay standard. Partlow turned in a 1:43.03 in the 200 Freestyle to qualify 12th for finals, while Baney finished the 200 Individual Medley in 1:56.68, good for 28th place. Baney, Partlow, senior Bradley Green and junior Cameron Howard set the third school record in the 400 Freestyle Relay (3:13.03), narrowly missing a trip to Saturday's finals session in 17th place.

Junior Joe Ancel finished 23rd in the 100 Breaststroke and teamed with Baney, Green and junior Diego La Torre to finish 21st in the 200 Freestyle Relay.

Partlow finished 18th in the 500 Freestyle, Green finished 27th in the 100 Butterfly, Baney finished 28th in the 100 Freestyle, and the team of Ancel, Baney, Green and La Torre finished 19th in the 200 Medley Relay.
