By Keelen Barlow

Competing in his IHSAA State Finals debut, junior Weston Ogden finished tied for 8th (+6) at the IHSAA State Finals June 15-16 at Prairie View Golf Club. With the finish, Ogden recieved State Medalist and All-State honors at the completion of the tournament. He is just the second golfer in Brownsburg history to finish in the top-ten at the IHSAA State Finals and the first since 2006 (Seth Fair).

Ogden shined in the opening round of the tournament, shooting an even par-72 and tying for second in the leaderboard heading into the second day. Ogden shot 14 pars in the opening round and notched two birdies in his first 18 holes.

He teed off from the front nine in the Final round and slipped in his first nine holes, shooting a 41. Ogden responded and shot a 37 on the back nine, including a birdie on a par-5 18 to close the 36-hole tournament.

Ogden and teammate Kevin Amalaraj (T72, +23) were the first Brownsburg teammates to punch a ticket to the IHSAA Golf State Finals in more than three decades. The duo also led the Bulldogs to a second consecutive IHSAA Sectional championship to open the IHSAA State Tournament.
