Thomas, Becki earn All-HCC selections to highlight conference basketball postseason honors

Seven Bulldogs received All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference honors following the 2020-2021 basketball season. Head Coaches Debbie Smiley and Steve Lynch were also honored as the HCC Coach of the Year.

Quentin Bragg received his first All-HCC selection after posting a career-best 10.3 points to go with 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game during the 2020-2021 campaign. Bragg appeared in 20 games this season shooting 37 percent from the field. He scored a career-high 23 points in Brownsburg's 63-48 win over Fishers Feb. 8. 

Ally Becki carried Brownsburg Girls' basketball to a historic run during her senior campaign. She averaged 18.0 points (4th in HCC), 7.9 rebounds (4th in HCC) and 4.1 steals per game (2nd in HCC), leading the program to its first appearance in the IHSAA State championship game. Becki had seven double-doubles (2nd in HCC) and one triple-double this year. 

Luke Lacey averaged 5.4 points, 2.8 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, helping Browsnburg appear in the IHSAA Sectional championship game. During his senior year Lacey had four performances with at least 8 rebounds and one assist. He averaged 3.0 steals per game over the final four games of the season. 

Pierce Thomas led the way for the Boys' program, averaging 21.7 points (2nd in HCC), 3.0 assists and 5.4 rebounds (T-4th in HCC) per game as a senior. Thomas scored at-least 20 points in ten games this year, including a pair of 30-plus point performances. He shot 43 percent from the field and 37 percent from behind the arc. 

Quinci Thomas averaged a career-high 5.1 rebounds while playing a crucial role on defense  for Brownsburg. She posted the first double-double of her career with 11 points and 10 rebounds against Terre Haute North Jan. 23. 

Tyray Lackey and Destiny Thomas received All-HCC Honorable Mention. Thomas appeared in 15 games this year, averaging 5.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Lackey averaged a career-high 7.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game this season. 

In addition, Girls' Head Coach Debbie Smiley and Boys' Head Coach Steve Lynch were both named Hoosier Crossroads Conference Coach of the Year. Smiley, the first head coach to lead Brownsburg to the IHSAA Girls' basketball State championship game, posted her sixth consecutive winning season with the program. Lynch led the boys' program to their fifth consecutive winning season and clinched a share of the HCC championship for the third time in the last four seasons.
