Conference Champs!

Conference Champs!

The Girls' Tennis team made BHS history by winning the first ever HCC Championship in tennis!  In spite of a rain delay in the morning, the Bulldogs lost no focus and came out to the courts on a mission.  Kara Mehringer, at one singles, played a very smart match in round one to get a key victory.  While losing to the number one seed in round 2, Mehringer still battled toe-to-toe.   Kara came right back for a win in round 3 to finish third and earn All-Conference honors.  At number two singles, Hailey Blood had a similar day.  She won a critical contest in round one, dropped a tough one in round 2, but came away with a win in the final round.  Blood held on to a nice third place finish.  Freshman Ellie Hughes performed some more of her magic and stayed undefeated on the day with massive wins over Zionsville and HSE.  Champion Ellie's work day earned her All-Conference designation.  Caitlin Preda and Payton Haygood were a force on the courts, putting together some powerful "combo" points on their way to the number one doubles title.  Preda-Haygood defeated Avon and Zionsville in convincing style.  These champs were named All-HCC.  The number two tandem of Krisitna Petrovic and Lily House kept with a disciplined strategy in their win over HSE.  Against Avon, the duo dug deep to win in a match tie-break.  Petrovic-Blood were crowned champs and named All-HCC.  Congratulations on a Rock Solid team win.
Both Varsity and JV will travel to Plainfield on Tuesday for a county match-up, and then we will host Lebanon at HOME on Thursday for Senior Night.  Seniors Jordan Callahan, Taylor Doehrman, and Kristina Petrovic will be introduced at 4:30.  A reception will follow the match.
