Tennis Defeats Falcons

The varsity girls' tennis team defeated Perry Meridian 4-1, in a great night of weather and with stellar match-play on every court. Nicole Weisman, at number one singles, had a tough match assignment and represented the Dogs well even though she wasn't able to get the win. Morgan Bettner had very few unforced errors on her way to a clean victory at the number two spot. Number three singles player Katie Suiter had a lengthy match but closed out the final set in strong form. Both doubles teams of Emily Doehrman/Shelby Hornback and Nikki Meade/Yolandi Geldenhuis completely controlled the net game and took in the other two points for the Bulldogs. The varsity squad will travel to Avon on Wednesday and meet the Orioles in the first round of sectional action, beginning at 4:30. Come on down and shout for the purple team.
