Girls Tennis Splits During Trip North

The varsity girls' tennis team traveled to Lafayette on Saturday and put in a pretty good day of tennis overall. In the morning, the Bulldogs beat Lafayette Jeff with a 5-0 score. Nicole Weisman, Morgan Bettner, and Katie Suiter defeated their opponents with perfect scores in the singles competition, refusing to give up any games at all. The doubles teams of Emily Doehrman/Shelby Hornback and Nikki Meade/Yolandi Geldenhuis started off a bit slowly but then quickly got back on track to close out the Bronchos. In the afternoon match against WL Harrison, the Dogs lost a tight match to the Raiders by a 3-2 score. Morgan Bettner pushed her opponent quite well but couldn't cash in for a win in singles. Both doubles duos of Emily Doehrman/Shelby Hornback and Nikki Meade/Yolandi Geldenhuis played some of their best tennis of the season to defeat two very solid teams.
