Bulldogs Over Red Devils

The Bulldog Swimming & Diving Team put forth an impressive performance on Tuesday night with a pair of decisive victories over the Pike Red Devils. The girls won 117-68 while the boys picked up wins in 11 of 12 events on their way to a 135-41 decision.
"This meet was a great opportunity for us to just have some fun," Head Coach Josh Saylor said. "We're in the middle of finals week, we've had a lot of kids sick and tonight was just what the doctor ordered to keep everyone excited moving towards the County meet this weekend."
Seniors Ashly Kraatz and Kierra Watson, junior Piper Lovett and sophomore AJ Moll were all double winners for the girls. Kraatz, Moll and Watson teamed with senior Megan Wolf to win the 200 Medley Relay, with Moll winning the 100 Freestyle and Watson leading a 1-2 sweep of the 50 Freestyle with sophomore teammate Karsyn Hopper. Hopper and Kraatz teamed with Lovett and senior Clarice Cross to win the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Lovett won the 200 IM, junior Madison Kehr won the 100 Backstroke, sophomore Danielle LeClerc won diving, freshman Bailey LaPaugh won the 100 Breaststroke and freshman Annabelle Ketchem picked up her first career win in the 500 Freestyle.
Senior Jimmy Breedlove was a triple winner for the Bulldog boys, while seniors Joe Ancel, Chad Hale and Diego La Torre, junior Vince Partlow, sophomores Andrew Fulwider and Frank Schoemer and freshman Braden Jackson were all double winners.
Ancel, Breedlove, Hale and Schoemer won the 200 Medley Relay, while Fulwider, Jackson, La Torre and Partlow won the 200 Freestyle Relay. Ancel, Breedlove, Hale and Jackson won the 400 Freestyle Relay. Breedlove and Jackson finished 1-2 in the 50 Freestyle, Schoemer and Breedlove finished 1-2 in the 500 Freestyle, La Torre, Hale and Fulwider finished 1-2-3 in the 100 Butterfly and Fulwider led a 1-2 sweep of the 100 Breaststroke with sophomore Trent Bien. Partlow won the 100 Freestyle with senior Adam Moll in second place, with Moll picking up a win in the 200 Freestyle.
Senior Cameron Howard led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 100 Backstroke with freshmen teammates Jack Lukens and Noah Pearson in 2nd and 3rd, while freshman Jack Franzman, Hale and sophomore Riley Koester finished 1-2-3 in the 200 IM.
The Bulldogs wrap up the first semester this Saturday, December 20, at the Hendricks County Championships at Plainfield HS. Diving preliminaries begin at 8am while swimming and diving finals begin at 12:30pm.
