Bulldogs Suffer First Loss

The varsity football team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday night, falling to Noblesville 21-22. For most of the game, both the offense and defense seemed to be in control of the Millers, but ultimately, turnovers would be the downfall of the Bulldogs. The Bulldog offense racked up 347 yards of total offense compared to just 253 by the Millers. Bryce Kirtz hauled in two touchdown passes in the second quarter and the Bulldogs took a 14-0 lead into halftime. In the third quarter, Oliver Lasu streaked through the Millers' punt protection to block a kick that was eventually recovered in the end zone by Trestin Patterson, pushing the lead to 21-0. The Millers caught fire, however, scoring 22 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to clinch the game. Nathan Walton led the Bulldogs defensive effort, yet again, totaling 9 tackles on the evening. Isaac McCormick and Josh McKinney added 8 and 7 tackles respectively. The Bulldogs look to bounce back this Friday evening when they travel to Hamilton Southeastern High School for the final game of the regular season in what will be a winner-take-all game for the HCC conference championship.
