Bulldogs Move to 7-0 on Season

The varsity football team notched another victory this past Friday night, this time hitting the road to battle HCC foe Zionsville. The offense was again impressive, racking up 453 total yards. The two teams traded scores on their opening drives, the Bulldog's score coming on a 22 yard touchdown strike from Hunter Johnson to Daniel Breslin. After the Eagles answered on their next drive, the Bulldogs again found pay dirt, this time with Dequincy Davis taking a short pass from Johnson for a 27 yard touchdown catch and run. The Bulldogs defense tightened down, not allowing the Eagles another first half point, but the Bulldogs kept their foot on the gas with another touchdown pass from Johnson to Bryce Kirtz and a field goal from Devin Steinman as the first half expired. Both Davis and Breslin added their second touchdown receptions of the night in the second half with Davis's coming on a 19 yard reception and Breslin turned a short pass into a 64 yard scamper to the end zone. The Eagles tried to make it interesting, scoring 13 second half points of their own, but the defense ultimately turned away their comeback effort with a key red zone stop late in the fourth quarter. Johnson finished the day 21 of 33 and 301 yards passing. Davis finished with 110 yards receiving and Breslin with 90. On the defensive side, Senior LB Anthony Cicciarelli finished with 12 total tackles and Isaac McCormick had another impressive night from his defensive end position, totaling 10 total tackles himself. Devin Parrott, once again, came up huge in the secondary with multiple pass breakups, including one in the end zone to deny a touchdown. The Bulldogs will return home to play Noblesville this Friday at 7pm for the final regular season home game as they celebrate their seniors.
