Late Game Field Goal Keeps Bulldogs Atop HCC

The Varsity football team went lion hunting on Friday and came home from Hamilton Southeastern with a 38-37 victory over the number 3 ranked Royals.  The Dogs racked up 336 yards of offense propelled by Isaac Beverstock and Chase Dutra.  Beverstock rushed the ball 20 times for 190 yards including a 61 yard sprint to open the second half scoring.  Dutra ran the ball 5 times for 34 yards with two rushing touchdowns and a school record 99 yard kick off return for a touchdown!  Chase also made the game saving tackle to stop a wild come back attempt with .7 seconds on the clock.  The Bulldogs took the lead with just 4.7 seconds left in the contest on a 40 yard field goal by Brandon Dowers, who was also perfect on his extra point attempts.  Billy Anderson and Ian good were responsible for the pressure packed snap and hold on the winning field goal.  Good also scored a rushing touchdown for the Dogs.  Friday night the team will host the Westfield Shamrocks in an attempt to stay on top of the HCC!  Special thanks to the "TOGA" group for your support.
