Boys' Track Runs to a 3rd Place Finish at Sectionals

The boys' track squad ran to a third-place finish in sectionals last evening, falling into 1st Pl., Avon and 2nd Pl., Plainfield, but advanced quite a few individuals to next week's regional finals at Lafayette Jefferson High School. The Dogs had one individual champion, David LaPerle, who lept over 13'0" in the pole vault competition, setting a personal record in the process. David has shown phenomenal progress this year and deserves all of his success due to the hours and hours of work that he and his coach Tony Heath put in over the summer and winter. It really shows what dedication by an athlete and coach can accomplish. There were also many Bulldogs who just missed out on an individual championship but did a great job to finish runner-up:

Latrelle Bandstra... 100 m dash
Jeremy Shupperd... 110 m and 300 m hurdles
Wyatt Rondot... 1600 m run
Justin Hays... 3200 m run
4 x 100 m relay team of Bandstra, Evan Anders, Keith Jones, and DeJoure Mercer

Top 3 finishes went to...
Bandstra... 200 m dash
Chris Stowers... shot put
Taylor Hemmert... long jump
