Boys' Track Drops to Southport

Boys' Track Drops to Southport

The boys' track team dropped a meet at Southport High School yesterday by the score of 81 to 51. The depleted squad was very close to making a meet of it but lost two relays by a matter of mere tenths of a second. The brightest spot on the evening was the distance crew, led by double winner Wyatt Rondot in the 1600 and 3200 m runs, followed closely by Elliot Shaw and Justin Hayes, respectively. The Bulldogs ended up running to a 1-2-3-4 finish in the 1600 m race, followed by 1-2 finishes in the 800 and 3200 m runs. Ben Hendricks garnered the blue ribbon in the 800, outsprinting teammate Elliot Shaw for the victory. David LaPerle vaulted to victory for the second straight meet in the pole vault, and the following individuals brought home red ribbons: Jeremy Shupperd in the 300 m hurdles and high jump, Joshua Mishler pole vault, Nassif Kouten 400 m dash, and Chris Stowers shot put.
