Tennis opens Sectional Play with a Win Over Avon

The varsity girls' tennis team won their opening match of sectionals against Avon with a 4-1 score.  All of the Bulldogs gave great effort!  Katie Bullocke had a nice, steady win at one singles, Nicole Weisman played flawlessly at two singles, and Emily Doehrman did a great job with smart play at the 3 spot.  Our one doubles of Blake Stayrook and Shelby Hornback played especially tough in the first set and will carry that energy into Saturday's match.  Our two doubles team of Laura Smith and Yolandi Geldenhuis did a super job closing out the match with a huge comeback victory!  The Dogs play the Mooresville Pioneers on Saturday morning at 10:00 am.  Please come out and cheer for our Lady Netters!
