Boys' XC runs in Semi-State Meet

During Fall break, the boys' cross-country team was on a great roll through the IHSAA state tournament!  The team began as sectional runner up to first-place Avon and then advanced to the boys' Semistate Championships for the 8th consecutive year by placing fourth in the regional.

The regional final was the best race for the Bulldog team, with 5 of the 7 varsity runners turning in personal best times, including Elijah Wagner, Christian Hammerly, Michael Breckler, and Devon Boone

The other Bulldog to set a personal record was the individual champion of both the sectional and regional, Hari Sathyamurthy.  Not only did his time of 15 minutes and 26 seconds win the title, but it also earned him The Indianapolis Star "Cross-Country Athlete of the Week" award.

Not to be outdone, Hari ran to a third-place finish in the ultra competitive Carmel Semistate on Saturday.  This finish earns him a return trip to the state finals this Saturday in Terre Haute, where he earned All-state honors with a top 20 finish last year!  Tyler Nolan and Levi Wilbur earned "Dog of the Meet" honors for superb semistate races as well. The team did not advance past the semistate round but had a strong year nonetheless.  Congratulations on a fine season, especially to the seniors!
