2011 Sectional Champions - Boys' Tennis

The boy's tennis team brought home the hardware as the 2011 Sectional Champions with some sweet wins over Avon and Plainfield on Saturday! 

In the semifinal round, the Bulldogs played some tough tennis to hold off the Orioles with a 4-1 score.  Sam Gentry was the first one off the courts with a very solid performance at number one singles.  Our number one doubles team of Daniel Heinekamp and Michael Hartnagel followed up with an excellent win on their court.  Then, Nick Wilde (at number three singles) battled big-time to gain the third point to clinch the victory.  Our number two doubles team of Evan Krauss and Josh Ruse cleaned up on the Orioles with one of their best matches of the season to make it a decisive 4-1 win.  

 

In the championship round, the Bulldogs were focused and determined to send the Quakers home quickly, winning again by a 4-1 score.  The Doubles Dogs dominated!  Daniel Heinekamp and Michael Hartnagel played a flawless match without giving up a game to get the first point.  Then, the number two doubles team of Josh Ruse and Evan Krauss only gave up two games in their victory.  Nathan Mehringer clinched the championship by winning the third point with a strong match at number two singles.  Nick Wilde then came off with another win on his court to give the Bulldogs the final 4-1 tally.  Thank you to all of the fans who traveled to Avon to support our team and share in the victory celebration!   The Bulldogs will play Park Tudor at the Ben Davis Regional on Tuesday at 4:30.
