Boys Tennis Drops Two Matches at Zionsville Invitational

The varsityboys' tennis teamlost two tough matches on Saturday against HCC rival, Zionsville, and to #18-ranked Floyd Central. In the opening match against Zionsville, the Eagles squeaked away with a win at 3-2. Sam Gentry played an awesome match to win at number one singles, and our other point came from some excellent doubles play from our number two team, Evan Krauss and Josh Ruse. Two other matches were extremely tight, with Nick Wilde losing in a third-set tiebreak and our number one doubles team (Daniel Heinekamp and Michael Hartnagel) also dropping a set in a tie-break. In the afternoon match, the Bulldogs did not fare as well on the scoreboard, suffering a 5-0 loss to Floyd Central. Again, both doubles teams played well to take their opponents to the wire, but neither could secure their third-set tiebreaks.
