Bulldogs Nab a Pair of Wins

The Boys Basketball team from Brownsburg started 2015 with a big win over Sagamore Conference power Frankfort Friday night 67-34.  Shaking off some of the Holiday break rust, both teams came out a little slow ending the first quarter tied at 10 points each.  Brownsburg came out in the second quarter and outscored the visiting Hotdogs 27-6 to take a 37-16 halftime lead.  The host Bulldogs outscored Frankfort 30-18 in the second half as several players saw action.  KJ Walton lead the team in scoring with 22 points on 15 total field goal attempts.  Darrian Ringo chipped in 4 assists against zero turnovers and added 12 points and a team high 4 steals. Jordache Mavunga added 13 points and 6 rebounds along with 2 steals. Eight of Twelve players scored for the evening.  The always supportive cheer block welcomed freshman Josiah Grant when he hit a three pointer from the corner, earning his first career points as a Varsity Bulldog.

Saturday the Bulldogs travelled to Pike.  Although the team shot fairly well and only trailed by four into the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs could not come up with the road victory falling 65-54.  KJ Walton lead the Dogs with 26 points and 7 rebounds.  Darrian Ringo chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.  Sophomore Landon Hall added 9 points as well. The Bulldogs outrebounded Pike 23-19 but critical turnovers cost the Dogs late after they had cut the lead down to a single point with 2:38 remaining.  The boys and girls teams battle Hendricks County foes this week county bragging rights as Avon hosts the county tournament this week.  Girls open Tuesday and Boys play Wednesday.  All games are played at Avon this year
