Boys' Hoops Opens Season with a Win

Two ranked teams opened the season at Varsity Fieldhouse Tuesday and did not disappoint their schools.  Down 4 going into the fourth quarter, your bulldogs dug in and outscored Lawrence Central 24-13 to earn a hard fought 65-58 victory.  After giving up 20 first quarter points the Bulldogs defended a very explosive Lawrence Central team well through the remainder of the contest.  Darrian Ringo defended Virginia recruit Kyle Guy and held him to 7 points after the coaches changed up the defense.  Both teams battled well for a season opener and had the fans on edge all night.  Ultimately the effort exerted by your bulldogs was too much for LC to overcome.  KJ Walton lead all scores with 33 points.  Darrian Ringo along with his defensive effort chipped in 6 and Jordache Mavunga added 10 points. The contributions by Tyler Kirtz, Landon Hall, Michael Fowlkes and Dalton Vachon were many and immeasurable with unbelievable rebounding, defense, and overall hustle.  The fans and super student body provided great energy and enthusiasm as the Dogs brought home the win.  The #3 Bulldogs take on #1 Ranked Southport Saturday in a post-Thanksgiving showdown at the 8000 seat Cardinal arena.
