Bulldogs Drop Opening Game to Tigers

The varsity baseball team dropped the first of their 2-game series against Fishers by the score of 5-2.  The Bulldogs jumped to an early 1-0 lead when senior DH Cody Gill scored senior CF Tyler Houston in the top of the first inning.  Junior RHP Caleb Sampen was able to hold the Fishers Tigers scoreless for the first three innings, but a few infield hits from the Tigers in the fourth sparked a rally that put the Bulldogs behind 5-1.  In the 5th inning, the Bulldogs were able to score Houston again on junior 3B Jacson McGowan's RBI single, but that would prove to be the end of the Bulldogs offense for the day.  Junior LHP Matt Rollyson threw 2 scoreless innings after Sampen left the game.  Offensively, the Bulldogs were led by Houston (1-3, 2 Runs), Sampen (2-4), Gill (1-3, 1 RBI), McGowan (1-4, 1 RBI)
