Cougars hand Bulldogs a Loss

The Bulldogs dropped a non-conference matchup on Friday night against Greenfield Central 6-4.  The Dogs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead off of a Tyler Houston single (with a stolen base) and a Caleb Sampen RBI to knock him in.  Greenfield Central jumped right back on top with a 2-run home run to take the lead.  The Bulldogs were able to tie the score up in the 3^rd with a 2-run double off the wall by Sam Comer to take the lead to 3-2.  In the bottom of the 3^rd, the long ball struck again as the Cougars clean up knocked a grand slam to take the lead to 6-3.  The Dogs snuck another run across in the 6^th and threatened in the 7^th with the tying run at the plate, but the Cougars' defense held and the final score was settled at 6-4.  Senior LHP Ty McCoy took the loss in his 3 1/3 innings of work while senior RHP Sam Comer pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball.
