Girls T&F Places 5th at HCC Meet

The Girls track and field team placed 5th at the HCC conference meet Tuesday night. The girls had many great performances for the night. Freshman Lauren Rinehart finished runner-up in the 1600 with a new freshman record of 5:08.39. She followed that with a photo finish runner-up in the 800 beating her freshman record time in 2:18.47. Joy Sopitan had a great night with a runner-up finish in the 200 just short of the school record in 26.24. She also placed 4th in the 100 meter run. Brooke Dixon had personal best time in the 3200 to place 3rd with a time of 11:35. Emma Cougill also scored in the 3200 with a personal best time of 11:52 to place 7th. Other team members that scored were freshman Mackenzie Stien in the 100 hurdles placing 6th, Roni Roberts finished 4th in the discus, Gabby Bische placed 5th in pole vault and Ali Ray 8th, Lizzie Daniels 5th in the 200, Roni Roberts 7th in shot put and Kaylee Price in 8th. The 4x800 relay of Carly Altier, Anna Boone, Gabby Bische, and Brooke Dixon ran a season best time to place 5th and the 4x100 relay of Mackenzie Yoder, Skyy Smith, Lizzie Daniels, and Joy Sopitan placed 4th. The girls will be back in action next Tuesday as they compete in the sectional tournament. Go Bulldogs!
