No.4 Wrestling drops top-ten battle with No.6 Warren Central, 33-29

In a dual that came down to the final bout, No.4 Brownsburg fell to No.6 Warren Central 33-29 Dec. 12 at the Varsity Fieldhouse. The result handed Brownsburg its first dual loss of the season and snapped a four-match home winning streak that dated back to the 2018-2019 season. 

Both sides traded blows throughout the dual but the Warriors maintained control for most of the night. Despite limited attendance due to COVID-19 concerns the atmosphere was electric as the top-ten programs battled it out. Matches were split 7-7 in the dual but the Warriors picked up crucial wins by fall at 106 pounds, 162 pounds and 182 pounds. 126-pound Brady Ison and 285 pound Leighton Jones both secured wins by fall for Brownsburg. 

Brownsburg took a 25-24 lead late in the dual off 145-pound Blaze Garcia's upset decision over No.7 Jevian Ross. The Warriors regained the lead for good in the win by fall in the next bout. The dual headed to the final match at 170 with Warren Central leading 30-29. Tyler Jones (Warren Central) and Griffin Ison (Brownsburg) remained close until Jones pulled away in the third period to win it for Warren Central.
