Girls' Golf Places 5th at HCC Meet

Monday, the girls golf team traveled to Bear Slide Golf Course for the HCC conference tourney.  Despite playing against 4 higher-ranked opponents, the 16th-ranked Bulldogs had a solid match and finished 5th overall with a 341--a big 14-stroke improvement over their performance in last year's tournament.  #2 Westfield came out on top with a 313, #6 Hamilton SE and #12 Noblesville had 329s, and #8 Zionsville just edged the Dogs with a 337.  Brownsburg's team score topped # 11 Fishers (346) and Avon (378).  

 

Individually, Maddie Cody led the way for the girls and earned All-Conference honors with an 81 for 18 holes.  Macy Stapp had a very nice performance with an 84, Abby Cody played well with an 86, Morgan Kier came in with a 90 despite some putting struggles, and Darcey Brinker fought through some first-time jitters with a 110. 

Great job girls!  The varsity team will represent next at the Bloomington and Lafayette Invites this weekend.
