Orioles Defeat Bulldogs

The Varsity Football team took a six mile trip to the south last Friday to take on the Avon Orioles.  The team spotted the host Orioles a 9 point lead before coming back to take a 10 to 9 lead on the leg of a Brandon Dowers field goal and a 55 yard TD run by Toks Akinribade.  Avon responded with a TD of their own and the Dogs took the momentum into half time with a 47 yard Dowers field goal.  With the fourth quarter score of 20-13 the Dogs were finally done in when the Orioles blocked a punt and then returned an interception for a score.  The team will travel to Lafayette Jefferson HS on Friday night looking to put a damper on the Jeff homecoming festivities.  A very special thank you to the outstanding "NEON" student section at Avon!
