Sectional Champions!

The Bulldogs captured their third sectional in the last four years shooting a 328, followed by Plainfield's 331 and Zionsville's 338. Due to heavy rains the sectional started 40 minutes late but the Dogs started quick. More pars than bogies was the norm for the first four holes. On the tough hole number four all five girls had pars. Even with that start we were only one up on Zionsville. Plainfield started slowly and was ten back. Play evened out and at the turn, Brownsburg stood at 161, Zionsville 164 and Plainfield 169. We struggled on hole 10, but regained our composure, and finished out the match. Maddie Cody led the Bulldogs with a 76. Her scorecard included two birdies, 11 pars, four bogeys and one double. Great score on a wet and windy day. Macy Stapp struggled on three holes but never quit fighting shooting a 83 that included one birdie and one eagle. Morgan Kier had a 44 on the front nine, but in Bulldog fashion, she came back with a 39 on the back nine also shooting a 83. Senior Emma Wilkins used her experience to card a 86. Emma's par on hole 17 helped seal the victory over late charging Plainfield. Playing in her first sectional, Darcey Brinker played her first 17 holes in fine fashion. A couple of tough chip shots on the 18th led to a quad. A good 87. A great day of golf. Our kids appreciate family and friends who were cheering for us..
