4th Ranked Pike Ends State Run for Bulldogs

The lady bulldogs took 4th ranked Pike down to the wire at the Decatur Central regional on Saturday.  The bulldogs started the game on a 11-0 run and finished the first quarter up 14-6.  Pike came out strong the second quarter and outscored the dogs 17-6 to take a 23-20 lead at the half.  The red devils continued to play strong in the third but the bulldogs would not go down easy going on an 11to 3 run themselves to tie the game at 42.   Sophomore Kyleigh Leaf came off the bench to hit 4 3's sparking the run.  Falling behind late the bulldogs were forced to foul and Pike hit 6-7 free throws in the closing minute of the game to put the game out of reach for Brownsburg.  Leading all scorers was Leaf with 13 followed by Reilly Olmstead with 12.  Tyon McKenzie and Allison Bosse both contributed 9 points respectively.  Congratulations to the lady bulldogs on a great season.  They were led by a great group of seniors:  Devin Courtney, Daija Middlebrook, and Reilly Olmstead.  A special thanks for their commitment to their teammates, coaches, and the program.
