Endress fans 14 but No.13 Softball falls to No.24 Avon, 6-2

No.13 Brownsburg dropped its first game in Hoosier Crossroads Conference play since 2018 as the Bulldogs fell to Avon 6-2, April 27. Brownsburg battled back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game but the Orioles responded with four runs to get the win.

Kelsey Endress threw a complete game in the circle and struck out 14 batters, her fourth double-digit strikeout performance over the last six games.

Avon scored a run in the second and third innings to lead 2-0 heading into the sixth. Kiersten Huff led off the bottom of the sixth with a single to center field and Grace Mendenhall evened the score on a homer to left field. It was Mendenhall's third home run over the last five games.

Endress took the circle looking to hold Avon off in the top of the seventh but the Orioles took the lead back on a grand slam to centerfield.
