Girls' Track Competes at Avon

The girls track team put up a good fight, but came up just short of defeating a tough Avon squad on Tuesday night. Many familiar faces put up big numbers for the team, while several others showed they have what it takes to up some great results. Junior Hope McQeen had a full schedule as she crushed her personal best in the mile by breaking the 6:00 mark, then also had a great race in the 100 hurdles and 4x400 relay. Freshmen Sophie O'Neil and Lisa Thacker finished in the front of their heat in the 100 and 200 dash and both teamed up with Alex Gutzweiler and Asia Jackson to finish in a solid 3rd in the 4x100 relay. Grace Esterline, Brianna Channon, Rachel Graham and Olivia Zoog posted their best times in the 4x800 relay for a good finish in 2nd place. Finally Adrienne Smith and Lauren Scott continue to show great improvement as they put up some of their best throws of the season in the shot put and discus. Great job to the entire team and keep up the hard work!
